Images and Assets Delivery (CDN)

Content Publisher CDN

Content Publisher delivers all assets through a dedicated CDN hosted at cdn.content.pantheon.io. By assets, we mean any binary files referenced in documents or in their metadata fields using the Content Publisher file uploader. These are, typically images, videos, PDF or any other potential file referenced.

This CDN is relying on Google’s Cloud CDN service and ensures content to be served and cached from edge locations closest to end users.

The CDN is automatically activated, no specific action is required to use it. However,

How to Use

The CDN is turned on and used automatically for simple delivery of assets. No action needed.

Optional Image Configuration

Content Publisher CDN uses Imagor to provide advanced image optimization capabilities such as conversion, compression or special effects. Refer to Imagor documentation to learn how to use this service.

Example:

cdn.example.com/myimage?width=500&height=250&format=png

Delivery of Private Assets

In some cases, customers might want to enforce privacy on website content and related web assets like images and more. If so, it is possible to configure Content Publisher’s CDN to ensure assets are only available to visitors having been authenticated (SSO, Okta, SAML or others). This feature is not available as self-service and requires Pantheon’s intervention.
